Every Mythic in the current season is either held by a boss encounter, sealed behind a vault or keycard, or anchored to a named POI. All three follow the same rule: the game marks the spot, so the lobby knows it too.
Confirm the live list in game before you build a route around it. Mythic pools shift with hotfixes, and a stale list from launch week will send you to a POI that no longer holds anything. What does not shift is the pressure, because whichever POI holds the strongest Mythic is where the third parties will be.
Contest or Concede: Read the Bus Before You Commit
Your drop decision is made in the air, not on the ground. Count the gliders peeling toward the Mythic POI on your bus line. Two or fewer and you contest. Four or more and you are entering a coin flip for a weapon you will hold for one fight.
The conceding play is not passive. Land on the ring of secondary POIs around the hotspot, gear up clean, and take the Mythic off whoever survives. Letting the lobby thin itself out and then collecting the reward is the highest equity line in ranked, and almost nobody runs it because dropping hot feels stronger than it plays.
Decide on the Bus, Not on the Roof
Bank the exact bus path in your first ten seconds. If the line crosses the Mythic POI directly, expect it contested by three or more squads and pivot to your fallback before you pull the chute. The decision costs nothing while you are still on the bus.
The Ninety Seconds After You Win the Mythic
Winning the Mythic fight is the half everyone practises. You are now low on materials, low on heals, sitting in the loudest spot on the map, and every squad within two hundred metres heard the whole thing.
Rotate immediately and rotate away from the obvious lane. Take the flank line, not the road. Heal on the move, not standing in the building you cleared. Most Mythic runs die to a third party inside ninety seconds of the fight ending, and that is a routing failure, never a weapon problem.
Bank Mats Before the Fight, Not After
Bank materials before you push the Mythic holder, not after. Two hundred spare mats turns your post fight rotation from a sprint in the open into a controlled high ground line, and high ground beats a better weapon in almost every third party.
The Exit Call You Never Hear Solo

Background: Why Mythics Warp the Whole Early Game
Mythic weapons sit above Legendary and exist as single copies on the island. That scarcity is the design intent: one guaranteed power item, one guaranteed fight over it, and a lobby that shrinks faster because of it.
For competitive play the practical effect is on placement rather than eliminations. Mythic POIs pull squads off natural zone paths, which means the players who skip them often arrive at the first zone with better position and full materials while the contest winners are still healing. In ranked, where placement points carry the run, that trade is frequently the better one.
