VALORANT patch 13.08 is live and Act 6 starts now. The first week of an Act is the best window to gain rank, because everyone relearns the game at the same time. Queue before you read the notes and you donate rounds to players who did. Here is how to read the patch like a pro, what to check first, and a checklist for your first week.

VALORANT Patch 13.08 Opens Act 6: What Is Confirmed

Riot published VALORANT patch 13.08 on October 13, and Act 6 begins with it. That is the confirmed headline. The full list of agent, map, weapon and system changes sits in the official patch notes, so read them there and not in a clip's comment section.

This guide does not guess at changes Riot has not listed. It gives you the method pros use to turn any patch into a ranked plan in ten minutes.

Patch 13.08 At A Glance

Patch: 13.08. Act: 6, starting now. Source: the official VALORANT patch notes. Everything else in this post is a method for reading those notes, not a list of changes.

Read The Notes In Four Passes

Pros read patch notes in a fixed order. Agents first, because a kit change rewrites your comp. Maps second, because a geometry or rotation change rewrites your defaults. Weapons and economy third, because they rewrite your buy rounds. Competitive systems last, because they rewrite how you queue.

For every line, ask one question: does this change what I do in round one? If yes, it goes on your practice list. If no, skip it and save your reps for what matters.

Turn The Notes Into Three Lines

Write three lines after you read: one agent you will play, one map default you will change, one buy habit you will adjust. Three lines you act on beat thirty you remember.

Agent Changes: Who Rises And Who Folds

When the notes buff an agent, expect that agent on both sides of the lobby within days. Learn the counter before you learn the pick. When the notes nerf an agent, the damage is rarely the number itself. Players lose a habit, not only a stat, and the habit is the part you rebuild.

Ignore tier lists written in the first 24 hours. They reflect hype, not reps. Your own results over ten games tell you more than any list. Pick one agent the notes favour and one counter to it, then practice both before you commit to a main for the Act.

ADAPT FIRST

Book The Act 6 Review

Book a VALORANT lobby session and let a verified top-1% pro review your new agent and comp setups while Act 6 is fresh.

Map And Economy Checks Before Your First Ranked Game

If the notes touch a map you defend or attack on, relearn your default positions before you queue. One shifted angle or changed rotation turns a muscle-memory hold into a free kill for the enemy. If the notes touch weapons or prices, rerun your eco rounds on paper and decide your force-buy rules before the match starts.

Call your buy plan early. Teams that argue about economy mid-round lose the round and the next one. Agree on one full-buy threshold and one force-buy rule with your squad before the first pistol round.

Rehearse Changed Spots In A Custom First

Load a custom game and run each changed spot ten times. Reps you bank before queue save rounds. Reps you take in ranked cost them.

Your Act 6 First-Week Checklist For Diamond+

Day one: read the notes, write your three lines, rehearse in a custom game. Days two and three: play your comfort agents and log what the lobby picks. Midweek: add one new setup at a time, then review your losses by round type, not by scoreline. End of week: keep what won rounds and drop what only felt good.

Keep a one-line log after every game: agent, map, what you changed, what happened. After ten games the log shows you which adjustment moved your rounds and which one was noise. That loop keeps you ahead of the players who change everything at once and learn nothing.

Close The Act 6 Gap Faster

The fastest read on an Act is a pro who already solved the first week. In a GG Clan lobby session your IGL watches you play the new setups live, flags the habits the patch broke, and gives you the fix in the moment. You can find those leaks solo across fifty games, or in one session with a verified pro.
