Warzone Season 06 landed on 16 September and Raven did not hedge. Deployment fees in Diamond and above are up sharply, SR Challenges are switched off for the entire season, a crossbow, a pump shotgun and two launchers are now legal in Ranked loadouts, and the AN-94 lost its grip on the AR meta. This is a short season with aggressive changes, and Raven says so in the notes. Here is what it costs you, what your loadout should look like, and what is worth queueing.
Ranked Play takes the heaviest hit this season, so it leads. Weapons and modes follow, read through the same competitive lens.
Climbing in Diamond and Above Now Costs You More Per Match
Deployment fees are the story of Season 06. Your division breakpoints have not moved, but what you pay to deploy has, and every credit of that fee comes out of your match payout.
The numbers escalate fast. At Diamond I the fee moves from 65 to 75, which trims your max earnable SR from 210 to 200. At Crimson I it jumps from 85 to 130, dropping your ceiling from 190 to 145. Deep in Iridescent at 13,000 SR you pay 240 instead of 180, and the most a match can return you is 35 SR.
Season 06 Deployment Fee Increases
Fees rose across every division from Diamond I upward while SR Division breakpoints stayed unchanged. Diamond I now pays 75 for a ceiling of 200 SR. Crimson I pays 130 for a ceiling of 145. Iridescent at 10,000 SR pays 170 for a ceiling of 105, and at 15,000 SR the fee is 270 against a maximum return of 5 SR. Raven's stated aim is to compress the Top 250 leaderboard and force progression to reflect consistent performance rather than hours played.
Read the consequence rather than the numbers. At the top of the ladder a mediocre match now moves you backwards, and volume grinding is dead as a strategy. Placement and elimination quality in the same game is the only thing that clears the fee.
Pro Tip #1 — Stop Queueing Tired at Crimson and Above
At a 130 to 270 fee per deployment, a flat match is a net loss and two of them erase a good one. Set a performance floor before you queue: if your last two drops ended outside the top ten with single-digit damage, the session is over. Top 250 this season belongs to players who protect their SR from their own bad nights.
SR Challenges Are Gone for the Whole Season
Every SR Challenge is disabled in Season 06. Raven built them to help players reach their true rank faster, then watched the ladder hoard them and bank a cushion for later in the season.
That cushion no longer exists. Your rank this season is the sum of what you earn drop by drop, with nothing held in reserve for a late push, and the shorter calendar removes the recovery window you would normally rely on.
Season 06 Ranked Structure
All SR Challenges are disabled for Season 06. Ranked Play Resurgence follows the same schedule as Multiplayer Ranked: three weeks of normal Ranked play, then one week of Ranked Series. Top placement reward targets have been reduced to match the shorter season, with the weapon Blueprint at 5 top placements and the Large Decal at 25.
Pro Tip #2 — Bank Your Top Placements Early
Five top placements for the Blueprint and 25 for the Large Decal is the lowest that bar has ever sat. Chase those in the first week while lobbies are still settling and rotations are loose, then spend the rest of the season purely on SR. Players who leave rewards for week three end up chasing both at once and land neither.
Your Ranked Loadout Rules Changed Overnight
This is the largest sandbox opening Ranked Resurgence has had. The NX Ravager crossbow with explosive bolts, the M10 Breacher pump shotgun, and both launchers, the Arrow 109 and the A.R.C M1, are now legal in Ranked loadouts. Dragon's breath ammo stays restricted.
The attachment list opened with them. The Solaris Holo-IR thermal, the M335-X Frag and Tempest, the Mirage Tandem Launcher, the M34 Novaline Garand conversion, the M15 MOD 0 AMR .50 Cal Kit, the XM325 Titan Wield and the MK.78 Lightframe PDW Conversion Kit are all unrestricted, and the Claymore returns as a lethal.
Raven capped the disruption by extending the one-shot protection already used on snipers. None of the newly unrestricted items will one-shot a full-health player, and vehicles no longer explode from a single launcher hit at full health.
Pro Tip #3 — Build a Second Class for Buildings and Vehicles
The whole point of this unrestriction is counterplay against teams that fortify a roof or rotate in a vehicle. Run your standard AR and SMG as your primary class, then keep a launcher or the M10 Breacher on a second class you swap to at a loadout drop when a squad locks down a building. Teams that carry an answer will end more third-party fights than teams that carry raw aim.
GG Clan Edge
A three-week season with compressed SR and a rewritten loadout sandbox punishes trial and error. Every drop you spend testing a crossbow build is a deployment fee you will not earn back. GG Clan's large-map Pros are running the new unrestricted items through Ranked Resurgence right now, and a session with one puts the working builds and the rotation logic in your hands directly, instead of costing you a week of SR to find alone.
Meta status: in flux. These notes are a day old. The SR math and the loadout rules are hard facts you can plan around today, but which of the unrestricted items actually earns a slot at Crimson and above needs real play to expose. Treat everything below as the read, not the verdict.
The AN-94 Lost the AR Throne
Raven set out to shake up the AR and SMG meta by pulling the strongest performers down and lifting the underused ones, and the AN-94 absorbed most of it.
Its max damage drops from 41 to 38 and its max damage range collapses from 45 metres to 38. Mid range falls from 37 to 34 across a shortened 38 to 52 metre band, minimum damage drops to 31, and the headshot multiplier falls from 1.3x to 1.2x. In BR and Resurgence it also takes 12 percent more recoil, loses velocity from 920 to 890 metres per second, and ADS slows from 235ms to 245ms. The 15 inch Benthic Barrel had its velocity benefit cut from 20 to 15 percent and its recoil control from 25 to 15.
Three ARs moved the other way. The Voyak KT-3 is the headline buff, climbing to 42 max damage, 37 at mid and 32 at minimum, with 8 percent less recoil and more velocity. The EGRT-17 gains a damage point at max and mid with a longer max damage band. The M15 MOD 0 picks up a point at mid and minimum plus a headshot multiplier raise from 1.31x to 1.4x, which is the sharpest reward-for-accuracy change in the pass.
On the SMG side the VST took a heavy cut across all three damage bands with slower ADS, while the MPC-25 gained range and recoil control, and the Strumwolf 45 nudged up to 48 max damage. In the LMG bracket the Sokol 545 jumped from 44 to 47 max damage and the XM325 picked up a headshot multiplier raise with less recoil. Every shotgun in the pass gained range, and the M10 Breacher's velocity nearly doubled from 320 to 450.
Pro Tip #4 — Re-Range Your AR Before You Trust It
The AN-94 did not lose a small amount of damage. It lost seven metres of max damage range and a headshot multiplier, so fights you won at 44 metres last week are now losses. Take your build into Plunder, find the distance where it still drops targets at the pace you expect, and either re-learn that range or move to the Voyak KT-3. Discovering this inside a Ranked drop costs you the deployment fee as well as the fight.
Four new weapons arrive with the season. The VMP is a fast-handling full-auto SMG from Battle Pass Page 3, and the TR51 Para is a semi-auto AR with very high damage and strong control from Page 6, convertible to full auto through its Prestige Barrel. The Arcblade melee comes from the Camo Costume Party event and the Roc 20mm semi-auto cannon from the DOOM Event Pass. Three new conversion attachments land through Weekly Challenges, including the Sokol 545 Warpath Blitz Kit, which ramps fire rate the longer you hold the trigger.
Modes: Haunted Hollow, Giant Infected, and a Last Call
Haven's Hollow has been taken over as Haunted Hollow for the season, and the changes are functional rather than decorative. A Ghost Train circles the map at the start of each match, and activating a train signal phases it into reality to reveal a Mystery Box marked by a beam in the sky. The Mansion carries a Low Gravity Zone where you soar higher and take no fall damage, the Lumbermill is on fire, and Trick or Treat Pumpkins around town gamble loot against a punishment. Powerups from those pumpkins include Full Armor, Full Ammo, Double Points, Loot Master, Undead Sight for target outlines, and Zarkour for movement speed and no fall damage.
Giant Infected arrives as a limited-time mode in Week 2. Sixty-four players drop into Haunted Hollow, eight of them start Infected, and the Survivors race to collect DNA samples and detonate a DNA Bomb before the horde converts everyone. Infected players return with unlimited sprint, wall jumps, rapid mantling and a super jump upgrade earned by surviving.
Season 06 is also your final window for Black Ops Royale. The win streak rewards reset with the season, the Season 05 versions are gone for good, and the Black Ops Royale camos at 10 and 25 consecutive wins disappear with the mode.
Background: Why Deployment Fees Decide Your Season
Warzone Ranked Resurgence runs on a single SR number with a deployment fee charged at the start of every match. You earn SR from placement and eliminations, the fee comes off the top, and what remains is your gain. Divisions run Bronze through Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Crimson, Iridescent and Top 250.
Raven left the Bronze through Platinum experience alone because it works. Everything in this patch targets the top of the ladder, where SR inflation over recent seasons let consistent time investment substitute for consistent performance. Higher fees compress the leaderboard, disabled Challenges remove the safety net, and a three-week clock removes the recovery window. That combination is deliberate.
