Warzone Season 1 goes live at midnight ET on November 6, and it is the biggest reset the mode has seen in years. Modern Warfare 4 fully integrates, Hajin replaces your Battle Royale muscle memory, Zodiac becomes the new Resurgence home, and a fourth Perk slot now spawns mid-match. Your player level resets too. Here is every change that moves the needle for competitive squads, and how to walk into launch week with a plan instead of a guess.
Warzone Season 1 Is a Large-Map Reset
This update hits Battle Royale and Resurgence hardest. Ranked players should still read on, because the Player Level reset and all 33 Modern Warfare 4 launch weapons carry across Multiplayer, DMZ and Warzone in one shared progression.
Everything below is written for squads who want to win endgames, not survive a few circles.
Season 1 Core Changes
Player Level resets with optional Prestige across MP, DMZ and Warzone. Tactical Sprint is now baseline for every Operator with a slightly shorter duration. You can drag allies while reviving them. Footstep audio and visibility are improved across all maps. PS4 and Xbox One support ends; Warzone launches on Nintendo Switch 2.
Hajin Rewards Squads That Pick a Lane
Hajin brings Warzone to the Korean Peninsula for the first time, with 13 major POIs split across North and South Korea. Hajin City's central districts stack tall buildings, barricaded roads and fortified positions. Imjin Farmland is open ground where long-range fights decide who rotates. North of the border, the 14th Political Prison, Chang-san Air Base and Deadtown change the tempo again.
Variable weather adds fog, wind and rain to some matches. Infinity Ward says visibility stays a priority, but a foggy farmland rotation plays nothing like a clear one. The new Gulag runs two symmetrical variants with mantle-heavy cover, so aggressive movement wins duels there.
Lock In Two Hajin Drops
Pick two drop zones before launch: one city POI for fast fights and one rural POI for clean loot. Commit to the same pair for your first ten matches so your squad learns the routes out, not only the buildings in.
Zodiac Turns Resurgence Into a Vertical Fight
Zodiac is a compact map built around the DRC Advanced Systems drone factory, developed by Beenox with Infinity Ward. Ten POIs include Admin's central tower, Furnace's heavy machinery and Trackline, where trains run across a double railway. Underground tunnels let squads surface from angles nobody is holding.
Resurgence also adds the Weapon Trade Station to upgrade your gun's rarity, plus four Drop Kits that boost your next redeploy: Insured, Loadout, Armored and Radar. Verdansk and Rebirth Island return later in the season.
Call the Tunnel Exit First
Treat the Trackline trains and the tunnels as rotation tools, not hazards. Call the tunnel exit before you go underground, so your squad pops up together instead of one at a time into a held angle.
Elite Perks and Weapon Augments Create Power Spikes
Elite Perks add a fourth Perk slot you can only find in-match at Buy Stations or through Supply Run Contracts. Athleticism sharpens strafing, crouching and ADS movement. Phantom hides you from recon Killstreaks, equipment and Perks. Fieldcraft rapidly regenerates armor and equipment. You equip one at a time.
Weapon Augments come from Fly Buy stations that drones drop across the map in limited numbers. CQC, Marksman and Handling Augments each give a big match-long bonus. The squad that routes for these spikes plays the endgame with an edge the rest of the lobby never picked up.
Why Routing Wins Season 1
Routing Buy Stations, Contracts and Fly Buys without losing circle position is an IGL skill, not an aim skill. GG Clan's large-map Pros call that route live in your lobby, so your squad learns the timing in one session instead of fifty drops.
Zipline Launcher and Grabber Drone Change Every Rooftop
The Zipline Launcher builds a line between anchors that your whole squad can use, and so can enemies. Pistols work while you ride it. The Grabber Drone lifts loot, fuel barrels and even downed teammates, with a limited battery.
New pushable objects matter too: fuel barrels, dumpsters and road pyramids that block vehicles. Ground Ops add drillable safes, surveillance towers and loot drones. Rally Point on Zodiac is the place to drill all of it with nothing on the line.
Never Leave a Line Open
Every zipline you place is a sightline for the enemy. Ride it, then retrieve or cover it, or another squad will use your own line to collapse on you.
Meta Status: In Flux
Meta in flux. Season 1 has not launched, so nobody has a confirmed loadout yet. The patch notes point at mobility and in-match spikes, but the lobbies will tell the real story once squads chew through a few days of Hajin and Zodiac. We are giving you the read, not the result.
What Carries Forward Into Season 1
Operators, skins and blueprints from Modern Warfare II through Black Ops 7 carry forward, and the Operator Skin Toggle gives you control over what you see. Legacy weapons stay usable, but they lose Gunsmith, Mastery Camos and build codes. Each one ships as a five-attachment version, with Legacy Blueprints unlocked through Player XP.
That makes MW4 guns the long-term grind. The new Grind for Royalty challenges and the Parallax, Damascus Reforged and Empyros Mastery Camos all run through them.
